Installation Guide for Starlink Mini Suction Cup Mount (For Sunroofs and Rear Windscreens)
What You’ll Need:
- Starlink Mini Suction Cup Mount (Parts A and B)
- Starlink Mini Dish
- Clean cloth or paper towel
- Rubbing alcohol or glass cleaner
- Optional: Water, Vaseline, or ChapStick for suction cups
Step 1: Preparing the Surface
- Choose Your Surface: Decide whether you’ll be attaching the mount to the sunroof or rear windscreen.
- Clean the Surface: Use rubbing alcohol or glass cleaner to wipe down the surface, ensuring no dirt or grease interferes with the suction.
- Clean the Suction Cups: Make sure the suction cups are free from dust or debris.
Step 2: Assembling the Mount
- Attach Part A to the Kickstand: Align the two screw holes on Part A with the holes on the kickstand of your Starlink Mini. Secure them together using the included screws and nuts.
- Insert the Kickstand into the Antenna: Once Part A is attached to the kickstand, insert the kickstand into the Starlink Mini antenna as you normally would.
Step 3: Connecting Part B
- Slide the Antenna into Part B: Align the notches on Part B with the antenna and gently slide it into place until it’s securely connected.
Step 4: Attaching the Suction Cups
- Position the Suction Cups: Firmly press the four suction cups onto the cleaned surface (sunroof or rear windscreen) to ensure a strong hold.
- Lock the Suction Cups: Once in place, press firmly in the center of each suction cup and snap the clamps closed for maximum suction strength.
Step 5: Test the Mount
- Check Stability: Gently shake the dish to ensure all components are securely fastened and the suction cups are holding tight. If any suction cups feel loose, reapply them.
- Test Drive: Drive slowly at first to test the mount’s stability. If everything holds, you’re ready for your trip!
Pro Tips:
- Reapply as Needed: If the mount shifts during a trip, stop and re-secure the suction cups.
- Check Suction Regularly: For long journeys, check the suction cups periodically to make sure they’re still secure.
- Mind Extreme Temperatures: Extremely high or low temperatures can affect suction, so be mindful of where you park or drive.
Troubleshooting:
- Suction Won’t Stick: Clean both the glass and suction cups thoroughly. Use water or Vaseline for better suction.
- Dish Wobbling: Make sure the screws and nuts on Part A are tight and that the suction cups are fully locked.
- Suction Failing: Consider replacing worn-out suction cups if the grip weakens over time.
